Please include your iPhone model, iOS version and the FoxTake version shown at the bottom of the About screen. It makes things much faster.
Frequently asked questions
- What do I need?
- An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. FoxTake is iPhone-only for now; there is no iPad layout.
- How do I get my script in?
- Copy the text anywhere (Notes, a document, a chat), then open FoxTake, tap Script in the top left and tap Paste & Replace.
- The text scrolls too fast or too slow.
- Use the speed slider at the bottom. It works while recording too. Hold a finger on the text to pause, release to continue. A short dry run is the quickest way to find your pace.
- Where is my recording?
- It is saved to your photo library next to your other videos. If it is missing, check Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos and make sure FoxTake is allowed to add photos.
- The app crashes on launch or shows a black preview.
- Almost always a denied camera or microphone permission. Open Settings, find FoxTake, and turn both on.
- Can I use it in landscape?
- No. FoxTake is locked to portrait because it is built for vertical video: it records 1080 × 1920 directly, nothing to crop.
- Is the prompter text recorded into the video?
- No. The script is an interface layer only. The saved video contains just the camera picture and sound.
- Does it connect to the internet? Does it collect anything?
- No and no. There is no networking code in the app. See the Privacy Policy.
- Will there be a subscription?
- No. Everything FoxTake does today is free and will stay free. If we add optional extras later, they will be a one-time purchase, never a subscription.
